If you can believe it, we are almost finished with out Human Design deep dive. We have Profiles below and then next week I will share why I love Incarnation Crosses. And, that’s it! The rest of the information a chart can tell us gets very unique and tailored to each person. That is also where the modality starts getting fun! I do offer a report that will tell you more about those specific aspects in your chart. More info on how to order is below.
Profiles in Human Design tell us how we are meant to do whatever it is we are meant to in our lifetimes. (The what is determined by our Incarnation Cross). Our profile shapes the way we walk through the world and provides so much more meaningful information about us than our energy type alone does. Profiles combine a number of elements that I don’t get into in this free newsletter. although I do give a lot of info here. They give us the most accurate picture of not just the blueprint for our energy, but the impact we're meant to have and the lessons we're meant to learn during this lifetime.
The first number tells us how we see ourselves and the second number tells us how the world sees us. Another way to look at it is the first line represents how our mind works/how we think, and the second line represents how we behave/walk through the world.
In my Lite Human Design Reports, I get into what each line means on its own. For the purposes of this walk through in Human Design, I will only share what they mean when combined. There are 6 numbers which combine to form 12 profile types.
The school of thought I follow has changed the name of each profile to be more positive and to give an archetype feel to each profile. So, if you looked up your profile online, you likely saw something different for a title than I have listed here. Don’t bother trying to match the name, just follow the number. To try to make it easier, I will show you the traditional names in parenthesis.
1/3 The Establisher of Truth and Knowledge
This profile is made up of the Knowledge Seeker (Investigator) and the Experimenter (Experiential-Martyr) energies. This may seem in conflict, but “truth” evolves as we evolve. You are here to investigate and understand things. People with this profile tend to come across as a bit insecure because they are here to research and learn through trial and error. They are naturally skeptical people with a healthy dose of questioning and curiosity.
1/4 The Omniscient Teacher
The Omniscient teacher is made up of the Knowledge Seeker (Investigator) and the People Person (Opportunist) energies. On the inside they are an investigator. They seek out facts and information because being armed with facts and information makes them feel safe. They here to learn about things that fascinate them and to then express those things to the people around them. They radiate authority and confidence when they step into their authority on any particular subject they are sharing about.
2/4 The Easy Breezy Genius
This profile is made up of the Natural (Hermit) and People Person (Opportunist) energies. They have many natural talents that need to be called out by their community and because they think these talents come naturally to everyone. They also tend to like to work on the mastery of the craft in private. However, when called out, they become very social and enjoy being around people. The world will tell them they need to choose - either be a hermit or be a people person, but they don’t have to choose. They can inhabit both, dancing between the two, being whichever one the moment calls for.
2/5 The Reluctant Hero
Reluctant Heroes are a combination of the Natural (Hermit) and Liberator (Heretic). These people are here to change the world though challenging the status quo. They love to help others and also really love to be left alone. They don’t like being around a lot of people, but when duty calls, and the call is worthwhile, they’ll do it. The downside is that people will tend to expect them to come in and save the day. This expectation can be exhausting to Reluctant Heroes.
3/5 The Great Life Experimenter
This profile is made up the Experimenter (Experiential-Martyr) and Liberator (Heretic) energies. These people are constantly dancing with life. They are here to lift everyone up with what they discover about joy. People love to live vicariously through them. They always seem to be having a good time. They are here to learn and teach the rest of us to dance with the ups and downs of life. Society tells them to come back down in the heaviness and drama of life, but that’s not their jam.
3/6 The Living Contrast
This profile is made up the Experimenter (Experiential-Martyr) and the Wise Sage (Role Model) energies. This profile type is a master at turning chaos into order and experience into wisdom. The first part of their lives are about experimenting. The second part is about reflecting on what they have learned and observing. The third part is when they step into their role as a teacher, sharing the wisdom gained from their experiences. That may be through simply walking their walk and talking their talk - being a role model.
4/1 The Bonus Life
The People Person (Opportunist) and the Knowledge Seeker (Investigator) energies come together to form the 4/1 profile. These people know who they are and have their own internal sense of what is right and wrong. Their lesson is sticking to their own truth and sharing the findings of their investigations with their close communities. They are generally light people. Any heaviness they feel comes from trying to “fit in” when they just aren’t meant to. They need to follow their passions and let themselves get obsessed by things. That will always lead them where they need to be.
4/6 The Regal Authority Figure
Here we have the People Person (Opportunist) and the Wise Sage (Role Model). People with this profile are usually the center of their social network of people. They are directing and organizing everyone else. Their entire focus is the external world - friends and family mean everything to them. Their strength is their heart and we live in a world that tells us to ignore our heart and follow our head. The lesson here for this profile is to follow their heart. The experimenting/observing/role model cycle is connected to the 6th line, so this profile type shares that cycle.
5/1 The Challenge Solver
This profile is made up of the Liberator (Heretic) energy and the Knowledge Seeker (Investigator) energy. They are problem solvers and fixers through and through. They are always coming up with solutions and answers. They want to get to the depths of their knowledge base and offer it up to everyone and they want to be the hero. They have a magnetic quality about them, almost seducing people into wanting to know what they have to offer. They do things differently and dare to go against the grain, which makes them the perfect people to come up with creative solutions to problems.
5/2 The Self-Motivated Hero
The Liberator (Heretic) and the Natural (Hermit) combine to form the Self-Motivated Hero. Also brilliant problem solvers and fixers, they are here to serve humanity. They have big altruistic hearts. They must first discover their own genius and inherent gifts to be shared with the world. While they wait for the world to “discover” them, they should continue to hone their abilities and gifts through experimenting and integrating with others. They are here to overcome questioning themselves.
6/2 The Exemplary Human
Exemplary Humans are a combination of the Wise Sage (Role Model) and the Natural (Hermit). I am an Exemplary Human profile type. This combination of energies is about becoming the kind of adult we needed as a child. We were born to become our dream human being. As children we were already an authority and super wise. We like to focus on depth and meaning. There is the 6th line cycle at work here too. We experiment in the first part of our lives, heal our pain and trauma and integrate our knowledge in the second part and become role models and teachers in the third part of our lives. When that role model time comes, 6/2s are recognized for our wisdom and drawn out of our depths of process.
6/3 The Responsible Adventurer
The final profile in our journey is the Responsible Adventurer, made up of the Wise Sage (Role Model) and Experimenter (Experiential-Martyr) energies. Just like other profiles with the 6 line, they go through the three phases. These are super fun people and super wise. They seem like they have it all together. These profile types hate the mundane. They want a full life and they are designed to create it. They bring the fun out in other people too.
That concludes our walk through the profiles. It is important to note, again, that you may see yourself in a profile type that is not yours. This doesn’t mean a 6/2 can’t be a super fun person or that 4/1 isn’t sometimes pessimistic. Remember also that what I have described is the highest potential of each profile. In my Lite Human Design Reports, I dive into the shadows, what trips you up and how to navigate those lower aspects.
I would love to know which profile you are and it resonates with you. Please share below.
If you found this information helpful, I am sure someone else in your circle will too. Please feel free to share with someone you know!
Hi! I am a 6/2 and I find this description very accurate ! I am still learning to be the person I needed as a child too
